This paper examines what our MPs are really saying about crypto and digital assets by examining every ‘Parliamentary mention’ (Hansard and other sources) over the last 5 years (2018-2022) specifically examining keywords ‘crypto,’ blockchain,’ ‘bitcoin’ and ‘DLT.’ Our research is anecdotal rather than scientific.
Highlights from the paper:
• Overview of the current political views on crypto and digital assets.
• Primary findings focus on the number of ‘Parliamentary mentions’ over the last 5 years of specific keywords and then categorise every mention by sentiment (either positive, negative or neutral).
• Secondary findings examine every ‘Parliamentary mention’ on sentiment by political party and notable parliamentarians.
